Strata

Capitol Hill - Denver, Colorado

Buildner Single Stair Competition. 2025.

As a six-story multifamily residential building in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, STRATA redefines affordable housing through innovative design and sustainability. Conversely the facade employs a striking rainscreen of reclaimed charred basketball court wood planks, blending modern aesthetics with durable, sustainable weather protection.

STRATA eschews the developer mentality that has led to maximizing square footage for profit, and instead prioritizes environmental responsibility and small-scale communal well-being, exemplifying forward thinking sustainable and cost-effective urban living.

Design Service Collective

Roseland - Chicago, Illinois

Senior Capstone Project. Columbia College Chicago. 2025.

The Design Service Collective envisions a transformative educational space rooted in Chicago's Roseland neighborhood.

Structured around a reciprocal teaching model, college students receive mentorship and instruction from faculty, while taking on the role of mentors themselves, guiding younger students from local public schools through the fundamentals and lifelong value of design thinking.

Guided by a core philosophy of service and mutual empowerment, The Design Service Collective emphasizes giving back to the community, fostering a culture where knowledge, creativity, and opportunity are shared across generations.

Through intentional spatial design, inspired by the rose flower, the building promotes collaboration and a sense of belonging, offering an inclusive environment that reimagines what it means to learn, teach, and grow – together.
